I just wanted to drop you a short note and let you know how glad I am to be serving as your interim pastor through this transition time. I know during a time like this there can be a lot of apprehension and uncertainty but I am confident that God has great plans for Commons Church.

Sharon and I both went to Hardin-Simmons University (With Steve and several others from Commons) and I attended Truett Seminary with Corey Bearden as well. So, we have a little history with some of the people at Commons already. Sharon and I have been married for 13 years and have three children, Jayci age 7, Cade age 5, and Karis age 3. I have served in several different staff positions at different churches over the years. We have been involved for the past 5 years with the church planting world and recently moved back to Texas after planting in Southern California.

I have a great passion for new church plants. God has chosen, for whatever reasons, to use new churches to reach people in significant ways who simply do not connect with more established churches. I know that many of you know this first hand and have experienced personally the difference that God has made in your life through Commons Church. There is a reason God moved in the hearts of men and women to start Commons. There is a reason God chose to create a new church in the heart of southwest Fort Worth. As we move forward together through the months ahead, I look forward to rediscovering with all of you, the mission God has for the Commons.

This Sunday we'll begin a 4-week series entitled "Why Commons?" We'll look at why Commons Church matters and how we are uniquely positioned to make an impact for Christ in southwest Fort Worth. I hope you will plan on being there this Sunday and being involved in the weeks and months ahead. I truly believe Commons Church has great days ahead. I look forward to getting to know you all better as we seek to follow God's leadership together.
